How long does divorce mediation take?
The time-span of a divorce mediation may be affected or decided by on going issues where neither party is willing to compromise. Therefore one of the goals in the mediation is to hammer out how the parties can reach an amicable and feasible agreement.
Further, the length of time spent in mediation is subject to the party’s readiness to come to an agreement.
If children are involved the parties must think of what is best for the children. The goal is to reach a reasonable agreement for both spouses.
Please note: If mediation is going to work, the parties must be willing to compromise. Further if mediation does not work each spouse will need to hire an attorney and will not be able to use the existing mediation attorney.
